I am currently in a period in my life where I am really focusing on self-care.  I am trying to surround myself and my social media with positive role models, and books that are going to help me to be the best that I can.  Here is a list of my 5 favorite books for self-care and self-betterment.

You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

I can not say enough good things about this book.  I am actually eagerly awaiting her other novels to be available at the library, I have them all on hold!  This book is right up my alley with some sarcasm, a few cuss words, and a lot of inspiration.  Sincero talks in this book about how to determine what your self-sabotaging behaviors are and how to kick their butt!

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

This book by Ruiz instructs all of us on a code of conduct that will lead to being happier and more successful people.  They are four agreements that you make with yourself and the world about how you will behave and think.  These agreements are said to transform your life into one of happiness and self-love.

If you are also a Rachel Hollis fan and you have Amazon Prime, I also recommend that you watch her documentary.  Her energy is contagious and her words are life-changing.

Love Your Life Not Theirs by Rachel Cruze

This book is a little different than the rest because it has a focus on money.  But, where I am in life, Rachel’s message is exactly what I need.  Her novel is about saving money and taking care of yourself and your finances first.  Instead of buying things because you think that they will make you happier or more impressive to other people.  This is such an important message for people to grasp.

Life’s Golden Ticket by Brendon Burchard

This is different than the rest of the books because this book is a fictional novel.  But it tells the story of a man who needs to look at his life from a different perspective and change some of his ways.  This novel was powerful and motivating.  It reminded me a lot of some of the Mitch Albom books and their style.
