How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog!
The biggest struggle with running a blog is getting people to read it! It seems so basic, but if you are not driving readers to your blog, how do you expect anyone to find it!?
I’ve done a ton of research, I’ve taken courses, I’ve read blogs, and I’ve tried everything under the sun. After all of this, I’ve come to one conclusion.
The best way to get people to your blog is through… Pinterest!
Why Pinterest?
You may think that sounds nuts; that website that people use to find recipes is going to drive people to my travel blog, or my teaching blog?
Yes! It really is. Pinterest is the best way that I have found to get people to your content. Of the traffic that has come to my blog this year, more than 75% of it has come from Pinterest.
To drive content to your blog, you need to have multiple pins for each post (I make three unique graphics) and you need to be pinning CONSTANTLY!
That’s where Tailwind comes in.
Tailwind is a pin scheduler that is better than all the others, and without naming names I will tell you that I have used ALL the others.
The big thing that makes Tailwind stand out to me is the fact that they are approved by Pinterest so I am not worried about my account getting marked as spam.
Tailwind for Scheduling
You can schedule all of your pins with Tailwind. This allows you to set everything up in advance and have it run for weeks with minimal management. Scheduling is great for anyone with a busy schedule, or really anyone who doesn’t want to be tied down to Pinterest 24/7.
This is a screenshot of the schedule set up. It recommends times for you to pin and you can control how many times per day you pin. Tailwind does all the analysis for you and tells you when times will get you the most traffic based on your niche.
I use Pinterest for both my TeacherspayTeachers.com store and also for my blog traffic so I pin both products and my blog posts.
Tailwind Tribes
Tailwind is also a great way to share your content with other bloggers.
You can join a Tailwind Tribe where you agree to pin other people’s content, and in return, they post yours.
When you go into the Tribes dashboard, as you can see there are so many categories to choose from.
And for all of the Tribes that I have joined the rules are pretty simple. The rules I have seen are that for every pin you post, you must share one of someone else’s. There may be tribes with different rules because I think it is up to the owner, but this is what I have seen.
Such an easy way to get your content out to new audiences!
Board Insights
Another one of my favorite features of Tailwind is the data that they provide you. This screen shows you how well your boards are performing. This particular picture shows me some of the group boards that I am in on Pinterest.
I use this data to decide which group boards are worth continuing to be a part of and which ones are not performing strongly.
Finding this information was life changing for my pinning.
Google Chrome Extension
If you use Google Chrome as your browser, there is also an extension that you can install that makes life so much easier.
If you want to pin something off of Pinterest, you just have to click the Tailwind scheduler button and you can set your preferences and pin right from there!
This icon will also show up on websites other than Pinterest. All you have to do is click the Tailwind logo in the corner of a picture and it will pin that webpage!
Free Trial!
All of these features are amazing, and they make Tailwind worth every penny! But, the best part about Tailwind is that they offer a FREE TRIAL!
So you don’t have to take my word for it. Head on over to Tailwind and try it out for yourself!
